Shands HealthCare, affiliated with the University of Florida Health Science Center, is one of the Southeast's premier health systems. Shands includes two major teaching hospitals, two specialty hospitals, a network of outpatient rehabilitation centers, and two home health agencies. Shands at the University of Florida includes Shands Children’s Hospital and Shands Cancer Hospital. We offer two state-designated Level I Trauma Centers and emergency air and ground transport programs that serve adult, pediatric and neonatal patients. Shands also owns a minority interest in three rural community hospitals in Lake City, Live Oak and Starke through a joint venture.

University of Florida Physicians
With multi-specialty group practices based in Gainesville and Jacksonville, approximately 1,000 University of Florida faculty physicians provide care in Shands facilities and more than 80 outpatient practices throughout the region.
